WASHINGTON (AP) ? A Republican draft report says five officials at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives share much of the blame for what went wrong with the Arizona gun-smuggling probe called Operation Fast and Furious.
After an 18-month probe, the report by investigators for Rep. Darrell Issa (EYE'-suh) says many people up and down the chain of command in the ATF share the blame for the bungled case.
The investigation singled out five key figures in the controversy, ranging from the special agent in charge of the ATF's Phoenix field division up to the agency's director.
Agents employed a risky tactic called gun-walking in the operation, and many of the weapons wound up at crime scenes in Mexico and the U.S.

How does a ?Realtor? do things differently from a ?broker? or ?estate agent? while helping you buy your new home?
a
Traditionally the role of a broker, estate agent or even the real estate consultant, was more an exercise that was all about ?finger pointing? (showing properties) and ?match making? (bringing prospective buyer and sellers to a meeting). It was something which didn?t call for any specialised skills, and just about anyone could become a ?broker?, given the absence of entry barriers to the trade. As a result, all kinds of people entered what was euphemistically called the ?business of broking?.
The home seeker found himself/ herself at times, getting the muddy end of the stick ? when the property papers were not in order, or some legal aspects were left undone and so on. What added to home seekers? concerns were the ?fly by night? operators, who gave a bad name to the ?business of broking? and caused serious problems for the few genuine brokers in the business.
There was the need for an intermediary who would be a bit of everything that real estate is about ? finance, legalities, documentation, registration formalities, interiors and even Vaastu and Feng Shui! There is one category of real estate intermediary, who fulfils all of these ? the modern-day avataar of a real estate consultant, better known as a ?Realtor?.
a
So, if ?due diligence? is a must while buying a home, then having the right intermediary to ensure your due diligence is done the right way calls for a specialist: a Realtor.
Realtors are members of the National Association of Realtors ? India, the apex body of realtors. They are no longer confined to the sidelines of the real estate sector, but are the real protagonists who advise, inform, connect, negotiate and ensure the home seeker gets his home the transparent, safe and secure way.
How is a Realtor different from real estate broker of the past? A Realtor is knowledgeable, understands the nitty-gritty of the business, and is constantly evolving and keeping in tune with the times. The role of a Realtor evolves from that of a broker who would just ?finger point? to being a true consultant in all senses of a real estate transaction. So, the Realtor needs to have all round knowledge of not just real estate but all peripheral areas like housing finance, property laws, insurances related to real estate, property management services, etc.
A Realtor should be able to represent both, buyer and seller as their consultant, and ensure that their interests are protected at all times, as also that the entire process of the deal is not only transparent but also hassle free. The Realtor should have excellent networking skills with affiliated professionals like advocates, architects, builders and all related professionals. The Realtor also needs to be effectively networked with other realtors in different locations so as to do business in other areas and represent his clients in areas outside his jurisdiction.
Even in the new age era when developers opt for ?direct marketing?, realtors hold a very important role in ensuring that the home seekers? once-in-a-life dream home acquisition doesn?t run into rough weather. And again here, how smooth the process is, depends on what your Realtor does for you. A Realtor has to be ready to walk that extra mile to make the transition smooth, hassle free and memorable in more sense than one ? and that depends on how well a home seeker chooses the intermediary. The smart ones will opt for a Realtor!
a
What a Realtor should offer a home seeker. First and foremost, the Realtor should be full time in business ? part timers in ?business of broking? are not serious about their work and can?t represent the clients faithfully and do justice to their deals.
Second is qualification ? a well educated and qualified Realtor will certainly be more professional than his counterparts. Third, does he operate from an office ? will he / she be accessible when the home seeker needs him? Also, a Realtor should have assistants and fully equipped office so that customers can be attended to when he is not around. Ideally, avoid brokers who are one man office and don?t have time for all their clients.
A Realtor should have all round knowledge of current market scenario, rates, developments besides legal aspects, etc. He should also have a good reputation ? one can get references from past clients, ask about his service levels, his scope of services etc. last, but not the least, check if he is a member of any real estate association. That will show if he is a part of the organised fraternity.
Finally, three points on how important a Realtor is: First, typically home buying/selling is the single most important decision in one?s life especially for those who come from the middle class. So, it makes sense to get an expert to guide you in the process. Second, the Realtor?s experience will guide you through the complex maze of buying/selling a property and also advice you on the reputation of various builders and projects, current market scenario and the various pitfalls, so that the client can stay away from problems.
Finally, a Realtor can be a one point contact for all the different components that go in a deal like housing finance, legal, interiors, etc ? more like a Single Stop Boutique in realty shopping.
So before you commit to use the services of a broker/ consultant next time, consider these aspects. Consider how the Realtor does it differently, and this will definitely make sure that you get your money?s worth for the brokerage that you, as a home seeker pay.

What one needs to understand about digital cameras is that they are only a tool to capture photographs. Who yields them is something that matters a lot. Give a DSLR camera to a novice and watch him squander the opportunity, while give a common point and shoot to a professional and watch him capture some delightful images. Do the reverse and you might still get similar results.
Now how about the other condition when it's a professional trying to use a point and shoot digital camera and a DSLR for comparison purposes?
Clearly, a DSLR due to its virtue of more controls offers far more settings and thus effects in your pictures. It wins hands down. Capabilities of a point and shoot digital camera are however limited. It doesn't offer as much flexibilities, not even the best cameras. Fortunately that divide is quickly narrowing down, thanks to the advancements in technology and its shrinking sizes. Think of cameras like Lumix, which pack a punch in all departments and provided that you don't want to capture a picture that is very DSLR oriented, deliver equally exciting results. After all, best cameras such as Lumix packs all the powerful insights and experience of Panasonic imaging team, which year after year has delivered some most talked about and acclaimed cameras.
Another way to look at the question is to factor in the conditions in which photos are to be compared. If it's normal day light and no external lights are required, high end digital cameras and DSLRs would have almost similar results. Of course the bokeh, which is the blur present in the background due to bigger apertures afforded by a DSLR, would be absent or minimal. Otherwise sharpness and colors would be as good. The real comparison would be when both the cameras capture an image with foreground and background in focus. The differences would be hard to tell!
With modern innovations, the differences are so minimal that most professional cameramen today carry a point and shoot digital camera as a backup for its innate quality of capturing things in good focus. Post production being completely digital today also means that they can inject effects in the images later on as well.
In the end a high end point and shoot digital camera can be equally exciting as a DSLR provided one knows how to play around with the settings and understand what all can be achieved in post processing. Once you master than, you virtually do away with the differences between digital cameras and DSLR cameras.

MANCHESTER, England (AP) - She is the last remaining link to the team that put women's soccer on Page One, the U.S. squad that won the World Cup at the Rose Bowl in 1999.
She now has a different name on her jersey, although her teammates still call her by the old one. She also has two kids in tow and takes them everywhere the team goes, having inherited the unofficial role of national soccer mom.
Her other title is captain, although she's among the quieter players on the team. She's played in 262 games for her country - fourth on the all-time U.S. list - but she's not a household name like Mia, Hope, Abby, Brandi or Foudy.
Christie Rampone, all of 37 years old, runs the defense and remains in charge of the psyche of U.S. team that has qualified for the quarterfinals of the Olympic tournament. The Americans wrap up group play on Tuesday against North Korea.
"I don't talk that much. But when I speak, it means something," she said with a laugh.
Don't expect Rampone to score goals - she has only four in her international career - but she calls the shots for the back four and keeps a close eye on the pulse of a talented, personality-heavy team.
"Best captain I've ever had," coach Pia Sundhage said. "Better than I was as a captain. She leads by example, and she respects the players around her. She has the timing of saying the right thing at that right moment."
Rampone was known by her maiden name, Pearce, on the 1999 team and kept it on her jersey until 2004, three years after she was married. Her teammates to this day still call her "Pearce" and "Pearcy," a reminder of her link to the days of Mia Hamm and Co.
"It's awesome to be a part of both generations," Rampone said, "being part of that amazing team and what they stood for on and off the field, and learning from great leaders. And now just being part of this next generation and the things that they're teaching me as an older player has been fun - just to instill some of the qualities that the old team had, but yet shape the personalities of this team."
Rampone is the only mother on the team, and daughters Rylie (6) and Reece (2) are the squad's unofficial live-in groupies. During a road trip earlier this year, the team staged a "Reece race" - a tongue-in-cheek contest to determine which player was her favorite.
"She's the heart of the team, for sure," midfielder Megan Rapinoe said. "Captains are usually more outspoken and probably more of a dominate personality, but she's just kind of cool, calm and collected back there."
Rampone has been captain since 2008, but she has some help at these Olympics. Sundhage designated gabby veteran forward Abby Wambach as co-captain after last year's World Cup, although Rampone still wears the captain's armband.
"They have almost opposing styles," defender Amy LePeilbet said. "But it's a good complement because Pearcy calms us, lets us know what we need to focus on, what's important. And Abby's that energy, gets us going, that enthusiasm that comes from Abby. It's a good combination."
Rampone said she doesn't mind sharing duties with Wambach, especially if it means deferring the spotlight.
"She likes to do more of the media stuff than I do," Rampone said, "so I have her do more of the talking and I do more of the behind the scenes."
It's more of an instinct job than a regulatory one. No one will mistake the team's training camps for the NFL version, usually run by a dictatorial coach.
"I'm not a big fan to create rules. I don't have a rule," Sundhage said. "I told her if you create rules, and if you break the rules, I have to punish you. I don't like that. But there are a lot of unwritten rules, and the players come up with the unwritten rules. They make my life very easy and fun."
Well, not always. Sundhage, Rampone and Wambach had to put out a fire Sunday, meeting with Hope Solo after the outspoken goalkeeper took to Twitter to criticize former U.S. team player Brandi Chastain's NBC commentary during these Olympics.
Sundhage said Rampone was instrumental in the meeting, particularly because the coach doesn't know much about Twitter. Sundhage said Rampone has stressed the need to create a "bubble" around the team to cut down on distractions, something that was re-emphasized with Solo.
Rampone initially felt these Olympics would be her last major competition, but she's reconsidering because she's playing well and still has the speed to chase down strikers on a counterattack. There is the issue, however, of her daughters. Rylie recently started kindergarten, making it harder to take her everywhere on the road.
"The way I'm feeling, the way I'm playing, the way my body feels, I feel I can definitely do more," Rampone said. "It's just a matter of taking everything into consideration with family, travel, how much time this team is together. It's a big commitment, and it's a lot more travel than it used to be."

Peaceful protests continue in Addis Ababa this week among Muslims angry over what they see as Ethiopian government interference. The government sees foreign extremist threat.
By William Davison,?Correspondent / July 27, 2012
With arms raised and wrists crossed, silent Muslim worshippers surrounding the largest mosque in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia's capital, again today peacefully protested what they call a violent government response to legitimate demands.

The act of civil disobedience from Muslims, who constitute at least one-third of the population, is a rare sign of instability in a country seen by US policymakers?as a bulwark against radical Islam in the volatile Horn of Africa region.
Last month, members of a committee mediating the dispute over perceived unconstitutional state interference in Islamic affairs were taken into custody, while unrest broke out on two occasions around separate mosques in the city of around 5 million people.
"We are showing solidarity with leaders who have been arrested but who are strong," says a demonstrator named Mohammed, referring to the vigil latched onto the end of midday prayers at Anwar Mosque. "They should be released; they were arrested for nothing." Moments later, nervous friends ushered him away.
Through military interventions in neighboring Somalia,?crackdowns against a separatist movement in its Muslim-majority Ogaden?region, and now the detention of Muslim activists in?its capital, Ethiopia has taken on a role as front-line defense against the spread of political Islam in East Africa. It's a stance that broadly enjoys?support from the West and neighboring countries,?but some observers argue that Ethiopia's?hard line may be creating a backlash, strengthening the appeal of insurgents whom it is battling to suppress.
Human rights group Amnesty International called on the Ethiopian government this week to either formally charge or to release those currently in detention. Amnesty also called on the Ethiopian government to investigate allegations of torture of detainees, to allow peaceful protest, and to use "proportionality in the use of force" against demonstrators who turn violent.?
For its part, the Ethiopian government justifies its actions by saying that the real troublemakers are a tiny minority of foreign-influence Salafi extremists.?
"This group actually deals day and night to create an Islamic state," says Shiferaw Teklemariam, the minister responsible for religious affairs. "This in the Ethiopian context is totally forbidden and against the constitution."
Activists scoff at the accusations. Ethiopia is a secular, multi-ethnic state, where Orthodox Christians predominate, they say. How could any Islamist group hope to create an Islamic state in such a country? The dismissal is seconded by Terje??steb?, an academic at the Center for African Studies and Department of Religion, University of?Florida, who studies Islam in the Horn of Africa. He says that Ethiopia's historically oppressed Muslims are enthusiastic backers of the current secular system.

Divorce is one of the most traumatic things to happen to most people during their lives ? excepting reality show weddings where a subsequent split is a matter of course, as most of us don?t rake in millions for an ill-considered coupling ? but the keys to a happy marriage are often learned by those who have loved and lost and loved again.
If you?ve ever been in a marriage that imploded, it sometimes feels like you?re not cut out for a ?real? relationship, are fundamentally broken, or maybe even that you can never really love again.
But these conceptions can fade away with time, and a study of divorced people shows that the right mindset has revealed that divorced people can and do go on to happy relationships ? and their experience sheds light on healthy relationships even for currently married or not-yet married folks.
Dr. Terri Orbuch has been studying couples in research that began way back in 1986. According to the relationships expert, money unsurprisingly is the number one cause of conflict in relationships, and that many people leave a relationship older, wiser and more conservative when it comes to mixing money:
?Many divorced singles say that money was the number one source of conflict in the early years of marriage? 6 out of 10 said they would not share living expenses in their next relationship.?
But while money may be the root of all relationship evil, it?s not what most divorced people say they?d do differently their next go at it. Orbuch says that communication is the biggest lesson most divorced people learn from a failed marriage:
?Forty-one percent of divorced people say they would change their communication style,? says Orbuch,?and, 91% of happily married couples say they know their partner intimately.?

CHICAGO (Reuters) - Light showers overnight in the southwestern U.S. Midwest were too little too late to prevent further losses to corn and soybean yields, and next week will bring the return of high heat and drought, an agricultural meteorologist forecast Thursday.
Rain in the northern Midwest this week improved corn and soybean crop prospects, while heat and dryness in the southwestern section continued to stress crops, said Andy Karst, meteorologist for World Weather Inc.
"There should be some improvement in areas like the Dakotas and Minnesota. They have had some good rains of up to an inch or more, and there should be more rain and more improvement over the next week," Karst said.
Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa and Illinois got some rains overnight, but they were too light to do much good. As a result, there will still be declining yields in those areas, Karst said, especially for corn.
"Corn is already brown so whatever yield has been established for corn that will be the final count," he said.
Karst said there had been forecasts for 1.5 to 3 inches in portions of the southwestern Midwest, but the rains were lighter than had been predicted.
There was generally a half inch or less, with locally heavier amounts, mainly in the north into Iowa of 1 to 1-1/2 inches. Heavier rainfall was very localized, he added.
"Shenandoah, Iowa got 1.5 inches, the biggest downpours were in the north into Iowa but they were pretty isolated," Karst said.
Karst said hot weather would continue in the southwest with highs in the 90s to low 100s degrees Fahrenheit, but more moderate temperatures in the 80s and low 90s would prevail elsewhere.
Commodity Weather Group (CWG) on Thursday said roughly two-thirds of the Midwest would get up to 0.50 inch of rain or more by Monday.
Thundershowers overnight in the southeast included at least a half inch of rain in 40 percent of Iowa and close to 25 percent of the Midwest overall.\
Scattered showers will extend eastward on Thursday into Illinois, Indiana and Ohio, with additional rain likely in the central and northwestern Midwest Saturday through Monday.
CWG said the rains would temporarily ease moisture stress, mainly aiding soybeans.
Hot and dry weather is expected to return to much of the southwestern Midwest by the middle of next week, according to CWG.

GLASGOW, Scotland (AP) ? London Olympic organizers mistakenly displayed the South Korean flag on a jumbo screen instead of North Korea's before a women's soccer match Wednesday, prompting the North Koreans to refuse to take the field for nearly an hour.
The flag flap began during player introductions when a North Korean player was introduced along with a shot of the South Korean flag.
The match against Colombia was delayed for more than an hour, and organizers apologized for the error.
"Today ahead of the women's football match at Hampden Park, the South Korean flag was shown on a big screen video package instead of the North Korean flag. Clearly that is a mistake," organizers said. "We will apologize to the team and the National Olympic Committee and steps will be taken to ensure this does not happen again."
The statement, however, included another gaffe: It failed to refer to the countries by their official Olympic names, causing organizers to reissue the statement using "Republic of Korea" and "Democratic People's Republic of Korea."
Commenting on the flap, the International Olympic Committee pointed to London officials.
"It's a matter for the organizers," IOC spokesman Mark Adams said.
North Korea won the match 2-0.
North Korea and South Korea are bitter rivals. The flag mix-up comes amid high tension on the Korean Peninsula following a North Korean long-range rocket launch in April and repeated threats by Pyongyang to attack the South. Seoul and the U.S. have called the launch a cover for a test of banned long-range missile technology. North Korea says the rocket, which broke apart shortly after liftoff, was meant to put a satellite into orbit.
Wednesday's match started 1 hour, 5 minutes late. Fans were confused at first, then turned to doing the wave and finally started booing as they became increasingly restless.
An announcement was eventually made over the public address system about 20 minutes after the scheduled 7:45 p.m. (1845 GMT; 2:45 p.m. EDT) kick off, apologizing for the delay and saying it "was due to an issue behind the scenes. We're trying to resolve it and we'll keep you updated."
To pass more time, music was pumped from the speakers. Players from both teams finally emerged onto the field about 40 minutes after the match was supposed to begin. The players warmed up again for 10 minutes before they returned inside the tunnel to be led out again for the national anthems.
Flag controversies aren't new at the Olympics. At the 1992 Barcelona Games, Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson and Charles Barkley from the Dream Team draped U.S. flags over their shoulders to hide a rival sponsor's logo on their jackets when they received their gold medals.
At the 2010 Vancouver Games, the Australians displayed a flag with a boxing kangaroo ? the mascot for the country's team ? in the athletes village, despite an International Olympic Committee rule that usually only permits official national flags to be displayed. The IOC eventually relented.
In 2000, sprinter Cathy Freeman caused a stir when she took a victory lap after winning the 400-meter final at the Sydney Games draped in the Aboriginal flag, which was not recognized as an official national flag by the IOC.
Also in 2000, North and South Korean athletes marched together at the opening ceremony of the Sydney Olympics under the unified Korea flag, sparking a standing ovation. But with relations deteriorating in the years since, each country insists on a separate flag.
Last month, there was another mix-up in Britain. British field hockey officials apologized to the South African women's team for playing the apartheid-era national anthem before one of its matches at the London Cup, a warm-up event for the Olympics.
The event's organizer, Great Britain Hockey, said it was an administrative mistake and offered a "full and unreserved apology."

When Isaac Newton developed calculus and his theory of gravity, he reaped a reward far greater than stock options in a start-up or a big year-end bonus. He got credit for his work and recognition among his peers?and eventually the wider world. Since Newton, science has changed a great deal, but this basic fact has not. Credit for work done is still the currency of science.
How should credit for scientific work be assigned? The question has tremendous implications for how science is done and what society gets from its investment. Since the earliest days of science, bragging rights to a discovery have gone to the person who first reports it. This ?priority rule? has led to some colorful disputes?Newton famously got into a tussle with Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, who wanted credit for inventing calculus?but by and large, the rule has worked well. In recent years, however, intense competition among scientists has led to difficulties, and we have begun to wonder if there isn't a better way.
At its best, the priority rule fosters healthy competition, which can be a strong motivator for scientists to innovate and rapidly solve problems. Economists view scientific knowledge as a public good, which means that competitors are free to make use of that knowledge once it is publicized. The priority rule provides a potent incentive for scientists to share their knowledge. Some think that the priority rule also helps to ensure that society gets the optimal return from its investment in science because rewards go to those scientists who benefit society the most.
The winner-take-all aspect of the priority rule has its drawbacks, however. It can encourage secrecy, sloppy practices, dishonesty and an excessive emphasis on surrogate measures of scientific quality, such as publication in high-impact journals. The editors of the journal Nature have recently exhorted scientists to take greater care in their work, citing poor reproducibility of published findings, errors in figures, improper controls, incomplete descriptions of methods and unsuitable statistical analyses as evidence of increasing sloppiness. (Scientific American is part of Nature Publishing Group.)
As competition over reduced funding has increased markedly, these disadvantages of the priority rule may have begun to outweigh its benefits. Success rates for scientists applying for National Institutes of Health funding have recently reached an all-time low. As a result, we have seen a steep rise in unhealthy competition among scientists, accompanied by a dramatic proliferation in the number of scientific publications retracted because of fraud or error. Recent scandals in science are reminiscent of the doping problems in sports, in which disproportionately rich rewards going to winners has fostered cheating.
The importance of teamwork in science has never been greater. Studies of publications over the past 50 years show that teams increasingly dominate science and are contributing the highest-impact research. Collaborators, consortia and networks are essential for tackling interdisciplinary problems and massive undertakings, such as the Human Genome Project. The priority rule may be undermining this process.
The appropriateness of the priority rule for science has never been seriously questioned. Is it best suited to the modern scientific age, in which scientists operate in large teams that put a premium on cooperation? An alternative system that celebrates team effort toward solving problems may work better. Industry, which favors collective goals over individual achievement, and the NIH Intramural Research Program, which encourages risk taking and collaborative partnerships with industry and academia, provide contrasting but instructional examples. Perhaps scientists would gladly trade the benefits of the priority rule (individual reward) for a system that offers greater stability of support and collegiality, freer sharing of information, more fairness, and improved scientific rigor and cooperation. This would be a discovery of enormous benefit to the scientific enterprise and the society it serves.

Pe?a Nieto's win restores power to the PRI, which long held an authoritarian grip on Mexico before being ousted 12 years ago. But more than a decade of democracy has changed things.

With 94 percent of votes counted, he has about a six-point margin.?Surveys had him anywhere from 10 to 15 points ahead of his nearest rival, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, of the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD).
?Now Mr. Lopez Obrador, the leftist who famously led a six-week sit-in in downtown Mexico City?to contest the razor-thin defeat in his first presidential bid in 2006, is saying he won't concede defeat.
?No one expects another unpopular protest, but he has said he is waiting until the absolute final results are in to make a statement ? even though Mexican President Felipe Calderon has congratulated Mr. Pe?a Nieto and the National Action Party (PAN) candidate, Josefina Vazquez Mota, promptly stepped down.
For Mexicans worried about what the return of the PRI means for Mexico's democracy, after the PRI ran the country for 71 years as a single party and with an authoritarian grip, this is a welcome sign that Pe?a Nieto won't have an entirely free rein. It is?also unclear that he will have a working majority in Congress, which means the party will have to negotiate hard with the others to push through tough reforms that Pe?a Nieto promised and that Mexico desperately needs.
But there are other reasons that fears should be allayed, say analysts. Mexican voters?shared various opinions about what a PRI ?comback? means, after they were voted out of office in 2000. Some believe the party, with its youthful candidate, has changed; some don't believe in any political class but think the PRI is the best that they've got.
Most Mexicans, however, appear willing to trust their democracy: They might not be sure what the PRI will do once it's in office again, but they do believe that in the 12 years since it has been out, society has changed in dramatic ways. The president no longer holds vast powers. With the opening of its economy, Mexico has also had to open its political system. And from a stronger federal electoral institute to the presence of influential civil society organizations, there is no way the party can get up to its old antics, they say.
?You have more counterbalances,?says Maureen Meyer, Mexico analyst with the?Washington Office on Latin America. ?You have a civil society that has been building its influence. You have stronger political parties in general.?
The PRI ?won?t be able to go back to business as usual,? she adds.
One of the biggest sources of power for the PRI came from its ability to control the vote. In 1988, the party was widely accused of having rigged the elections, after a leftist candidate was coming out front. But in the wake of the outcry the government began the process of overhauling its electoral system, reforms that were strengthened throughout the 90s. By the time the PRI lost in 2000 for the first time, Mexico's?Federal Electoral Institute?(IFE) was considered one of the world's best.
The confidence in the electoral body was tested after Mexico's last presidential election in 2006, when Mr. Lopez Obrador, in his first presidential bid, declared fraud and refused to recognize election results, after losing the race by less than a percentage point. And the feeling that the election was ?stolen? is still strong among Lopez Obrador's supporters.
?Of course the vote was robbed in 2006,? says Hector Galvan, a young resident of?Mexico City?who works in human resources. ?Everything is corruptible here.?

Fed up with wandering through supermarket aisles in an effort to cross that last item off your shopping list? Researchers at Carnegie Mellon University's Intel Science and Technology Center in Embedded Computing have developed a robot that could ease your pain and help store owners keep items in stock. Dubbed AndyVision, the bot is equipped with a Kinect sensor, image processing and machine learning algorithms, 2D and 3D images of products and a floor plan of the shop in question. As the mechanized worker roams around, it determines if items are low or out of stock and if they've been incorrectly shelved. Employees then receive the data on iPads and a public display updates an interactive map with product information for shoppers to peruse. The automaton is currently meandering through CMU's campus store, but it's expected to wheel out to a few local retailers for testing sometime next year. Head past the break to catch a video of the automated inventory clerk at work.

With the Supreme Court sharply divided, the Obama health law was saved by Chief Justice John Roberts, who sided with the four more liberal justices on the Court to uphold both the individual mandate and the overall health reform plan.
It was a supremely ironic outcome, as the Roberts Court has been heavily criticized by Democrats in the Congress and the White House in recent years - in fact - go back to 2005 when the Chief Justice's nomination was up before the Senate, and you will find Senators named Obama and Biden were two of the 22 votes against.
Today though, the Chief Justice delivered the President a major political victory.
The Chief Justice came up with a very interesting ruling, as he rejected the idea that the individual mandate was constitutional under the Commerce Clause - instead, he found that it was okay under Congress' power to tax.
That course was blasted by the Supreme Court's minority, as Justices Scalia, Thomas, Alito and Kennedy labeled the final decision, "vast judicial overreaching."
If you want to read today's decision by the US Supreme Court, you can link to it here.
